Dashboard

Build the family record carefully, together.

Family Roots Room gives invited family members a shared place to ask questions, preserve memories, track land/property history, bulk-sort existing research notes, ask AI-style questions about entered research, manage research tasks, review Dawes/tribal enrollment leads, review evidence, and organize confirmed discoveries without mixing unverified leads into the official record.

Privacy-first workspace

This workspace is designed for invited members. Sensitive discoveries should be reviewed before being added to any official family profile.

  • Research posts stay organized by status.
  • AI suggestions are advisory and task-focused.
  • Admin review is required before official updates.

Quick Add

Add a research post first. The system can then suggest checklist tasks based on what was added.

AI Intake & Sorting Room

Paste existing research and let the system prepare it for review.

Use this as the first stop for information the family already has. Paste copied notes, document text, ancestry summaries, deed notes, obituary text, census notes, Dawes/tribal enrollment clues, land history, timelines, or family stories. The prototype will create a sorting preview and suggested follow-up tasks. You can paste text directly or upload files; text-based files can be read locally for testing, while PDFs, Word files, images, and scans are captured as file references for review. When the backend is connected, selected files can also be uploaded to R2 storage for testing.

AI Intake directions: Use this page as the front door for bulk information. Add a title, paste notes or upload files, then click Analyze and save intake batch. After saving, the batch appears lower on this same page under Saved Intake Batches / Upload Review Queue. It does not automatically move into People, Documents, Land, or Photos until an admin reviews and routes it.

What happens after you upload or save?

  1. AI Intake saves the batch. This is the holding area for copied notes, file names, uploaded files, and extracted text.
  2. The sorting preview appears below. Look under Saved Intake Batches / Upload Review Queue on this page.
  3. Files are listed as references. Text files may be read into the text box. Word/PDF/images are saved as file references for the next AI/OCR processing build.
  4. Admin reviews before routing. Use the buttons on each saved batch to create tasks, send a summary to the Research Wall, or archive the batch.
Last AI Intake activity: Nothing has been saved in this session yet. After you save a batch, this box will tell you exactly where it went.

Saved Intake Batches / Upload Review Queue

This is where copied notes and uploaded file references appear after you click Analyze and save intake batch. Open a saved batch to review text, files, suggested routing, and next steps.

Uploads & File Review

Know exactly where every uploaded file went.

This is the file tracking center. Every file uploaded or attached through AI Intake, Documents, Land & Property, People, or Photos & Memories should appear here as a file reference. Use this page to confirm the upload location, related record, backend/R2 status, and next review step.

Upload directions: Newly uploaded files first appear here as references. Text files may be readable in AI Intake, but Word files, PDFs, scans, photos, and census images still require the future AI/OCR processing build before the system can fully extract names, dates, and places from them. Nothing should be treated as official until admin review is complete.

Uploaded Files / File Reference Queue

Use this queue to answer: Where did this upload go? Each card shows the file name, the section it came from, the related record, and whether it was uploaded to backend storage or saved as a reference for review.

Ask AI Questions

Ask questions about the research already entered.

Use this area to ask plain-language questions about names, places, records, land/property leads, Dawes or tribal enrollment clues, tasks, documents, photos, memories, and Research Wall posts already saved in this prototype.

Prototype note: This Ask AI area searches and summarizes information saved in this browser. It is not connected to a full AI engine or shared family database yet. It should be used for research guidance, not as final proof.

SaaS Backend Connection

Connect FRR to the live backend.

Use this page to connect the visible prototype to the deployed Worker backend, D1 database, Founder Family Room, and R2 storage bucket. This is a development bridge until production sign-in and invite emails are added.

Storage Status

R2 bucket binding is connected on the backend. File upload testing is available after you connect the Founder Room.

What this connection does now

  • Confirms your owner account and Founder Family Room are active.
  • Saves new people, land records, source records, research posts, tasks, intake batches, and Ask AI questions to the backend when connected.
  • Uploads selected AI Intake files to the R2 bucket for backend testing.
  • Keeps a browser copy as a backup while the production interface is being completed.

Research Wall

Post, discuss, verify, and route family discoveries.

Use this section for family history questions, new research leads, documents, photo identification, memories, relationship questions, DNA clues, Dawes/tribal enrollment leads, and land/property leads.

← Dashboard
How this works: AI may suggest where a post belongs and may create checklist tasks. It does not automatically update official family records without admin review.

AI Research Checklist

Track what still needs to be researched, verified, or completed.

When someone adds research, the system can suggest tasks. When a related post is marked verified or added, linked tasks can move forward automatically.

← Dashboard
AI checklist rule: Safe workflow steps can be marked complete automatically. Sensitive conclusions such as parentage, tribal/enrollment identity, land loss, ownership, DNA findings, or relationship corrections still need admin review.

Land & Property

Document ancestral land, ownership history, and what happened to the property.

Use this section for deeds, tax records, probate clues, land sales, confiscation questions, heirs’ property, current ownership, and open research questions.
